The physical heart is delicate, even fragile; and yet, at the

center of our being, it powers the pulse of life. The spiritual

heart, as the wellspring of divine truth, has an unlimited

capacity for wisdom and love. It is a perfect altar for the

Christ, Who remembers the Creator in the child of God. As a

symbol of Love, the heart reminds us of our Source, and our

desire for true and holy relationship.

Why Open? To open the heart is to awaken to an inner reality

that calls from the deepest recesses of our being to be known

and experienced. Opening the heart is the work of looking

beyond the conceptual paradigm of our small mind toward an

understanding of our meaning and purpose in Spirit. Opening

is a decision for defenselessness, honesty, listening, accep-

tance, trust, forgiveness, patience and sharing. Our small

human life may then be broken open by Love, and through

Love realize the Kingdom within itself. The Foundation of

Open Hearts recognizes awakening as an endeavor of joining,

flowing from the union of all hearts in a journey to One

Source of eternal peace.
