History of Open Hearts

In May of 1995, my life took a radical turn. My marriage ended. I had been living in a kind of rose garden, complete with husband, children, picket fence and pooches. A career in healing and holistic psychology had been put aside to raise my children and build a home with my partner. Seven years after the I do’s, the family rose garden erupted into an inferno of despair. My life was completely rearranged.

We all have our stories, and for each of us there is a turning point, a dark night of the soul that breaks our hearts and leads us to question the purpose, origin and meaning of existence. My bleakest hour became the best worst thing that ever happened to me.

I was delivered from a kind of ignorance and smallness, into the stunning awareness of my Self, seeing clearly that Love was the truth and Source of all life. In the blackest of moments, my heart opened, moving from bitterness and sorrow into the revelation of God shining from within.

I am very blessed to have had a friend who understood and believed in me then, as I was fertile with visions, miracles and awakening, but also rife with pain. I was working with Anthony Cernera, who was at that time, President of Sacred Heart University. He trusted and supported my inspirations. One of them, a vivid dream, plainly guided me to a foundation. Another dream simply revealed an equation…Foundation = healing plus Divine Order.  Perhaps that is also the equation for every child of God Who finds themselves on the road Home. I am forever grateful for the friendship that led me to believe in and begin the journey of The Foundation of Open Hearts
